Liebe Unterstützer,
zum Jahresende sind es nunmehr weniger als zwei Monate, daher möchten wir Ihnen gerne ein kurzes Update zu unseren wichtigsten Projekten geben.
Im Karuna Kinderhaus sind alle wohl auf.
Die vier jungen Frauen, die im NSST Programm „Germany“ sind, hatten zwischenzeitlich im Goethe Zentrum die erste Prüfung. Bestanden haben leider nur Jyoti Rai und Jyoti Lama. Manisha und Mariya wollen auf jeden Fall aber weitermachen. Sobald wir weitere Informationen haben, werden wir berichten.
Pre School ,St.Alphonsa’s School, Simara
Bis auf kleine Restarbeiten ist die zweite Etage (First Floor) fertig gestellt. Den Report von Sr. Deepa vom 20.10.2023 haben wir eingefügt.

Pre -School first floor construction, Simara
St. Alphonsa’s School Simara is immensely indebted to Future for Nepal’s e.V for the very generous support towards the completion of the construction of two floors of the pre School. The ground floor was inaugurated on 26 February 2022 and the further support for the next floor started there itself. First plan was to make only the slab for that floor. But the earnest effort of Mr. Manfred Brenneisen led to the completion of the first floor today.
The construction of the first floor was started in the month of June 2022 and it went on smoothly. The construction is almost completed. One side was completed by May 2023 and those three rooms are used as class rooms now. Major work of the other side also is done and other works are in progress.
Remaining work
Flooring with Kota stone is being done at present. It is already fixed and it will takes some more weeks to get cleaned. The other remaining work is the painting of one wing. It can be done only after finishing the floor. Tile work on the toilet area of one wing also has to be completed .
Balance amount
As per the financial statement there is a balance of NPR 1,508526.46. It has to be spent for the remaining work and some other payment also are in pending. I hope still there can be a balance of NPR 500,000/-
Second Floor
As the situation remains the same we would like to make the second floor at least the slabs on both sides. As we got some money from the school we started making pillars for that in order to keep our workers engaged. If they leave it will be very difficult for us in the future. I hope if we get NPR 5,000.000/- (fifty lakhs) we could have finished it. Other works we can do slowly with the money from the school. So I kindly request again to you to help us to complete the building.

Leider lassen unsere derzeitigen finanziellen Mittel, die komplette Fertigstellung mit der dritten Etage (Second Floor) nicht zu. Der Bedarf beträgt über 100.000 EUR.
Überaus wichtig wäre aber die Erstellung der rohbaumäßigen Grundstruktur, heißt Säulen und abschließende Dach -Betonplatte. Diese Bauarbeiten könnten noch von der bislang in gute Qualität arbeitenden Baufirma gemacht werden. Wenn diese abziehen, wird es schwierig und im Zweifelsfall deutlich teurer.
Der Plan ist also, nach Erstellung der Grundstruktur alle anderen Arbeiten wie Wände, Fenster, Böden sukzessive nach den finanziellen Gegebenheiten – durchaus auch mehrjährig- durchzuführen. Die Säulen und das Dach für Second Floor haben jetzt höchste Priorität. Die benötigte Summe hierfür beträgt 36.000 €.
Hier benötigen wir aber weitere Spendenzuflüsse, sonst werden wir das nicht stemmen können. Das wäre sehr schade! Wir bitten hiermit um Unterstützung für den weiteren Ausbau des Second Floor, ID8151.
Don Bosco Institut, Techo
Die Anschaffung des Schulbusses für die Schule in Bharoul (East Nepal), ID8149,
hat sich verzögert, da sich beim ersten Geld Transfair ein Fehler eingeschlichen hat.
Wir gehen davon aus, dass die Angelegenheit in den nächsten Tagen geklärt sein wird und damit der Busanschaffung nichts mehr im Wege steht.
Sarita Ghale (ID8146)
Sarita ist nunmehr circa fünf Monate in Cebu/Philippinen und ist jetzt in der zweiten Hälfte ihres ersten Semesters. Nachfolgend ein Bericht von ihr.
Dear Uncle,
Hope you are well. I’m doing fine too.
It’s been around 4 months since I’ve been here in the Philippines!
The weather here is still the same as it was when I arrived. Peaks up to 33 degrees during the day!
I attend classes regularly (6 days a week these days). All the lessons are quite interesting and fun and challenging at times. I have these subjects this semester:
- Immunology
- Developmental biology
- Cell and molecular bio
- Genetics
- Biostatistics
- Zoology
- Botany
- Philippine history and communication
Recently, we had intra school sports competition and I participated in the Badminton tournament representing my batch. It was quite an experience, competing against all my seniors.
This semester, I also got to work on a research proposal activity on the title “Insomania in young adults”.
So, in conclusion, school is quite engaging at this moment and keeps me busy. We’ll be having an exam in December and wrapping up for the holiday season. It was a surprise for me that the Philippines gets into the Christmas season as early as September 1st!
As for my accommodation, I’m planning to move someplace closer to college someday soon. For now, I’m still at Maryville. (It’s quite nice here)
I’ve made many friends here from Thailand, Nigeria, Cambodia, India, some from Nepal and Bhutan. My closest girlfriends are from Bhutan. We get along really well and we study and revise together too!
The college administration is now working on the application of student visa conversion process. They have all my documents and passport with them. They made us go through all medical checkups again. Sometimes, it seems like they’re trying to hand out every possible problem. But for now, things look hopeful and there’s a strong likelihood that we’ll have our visa work completed by next month!
Except for this occasional problem of visa, I have no troubles whatsoever. I am happy, healthy and immensely grateful.
P.S.: I got to celebrate Dashain on 24th october with my friends. We had a dinner together and it was quite memorable.
